Finally, I heart NY comes to life. For the past 4 years the Times Square alliance has hosted a heart sculpture in Times Square to celebrate Valentine’s Day. This year’s sculpture beats the previous sculptures because this year it actually does beat. The 10-foot tall glowing sculpture consists of 400 transparent, LED lights. When you touch the interactive sculpture, designed by by BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) with FLATCUT_ and Local Projects, the heart beats faster. Hold hands with people touching the sculpture increases the pulse rate. The more love you give it the more love you get back. Aw. Now maybe there’s a reason for native NYers to visit Times Square.
