And The Oscar Goes to…You!

I know you’ve thought about what you would say in your Oscar acceptance speech. I know I have. I plan on starting out with a little light humor, “My other Oscar is baloney.” Then I’d do the “tell kids to stay in school/Never give up/You’re dreams can come true/I’d never thought I’d be here” montage. Finally, I’d finish up by thanking the Academy, VH1′s “Tool Academy.” Great show. Anyway, now’s your chance to get your hands on a statue at Vanderbilt Hall’s new exhibit.

Through Sunday in Grand Central Station’s Vanderbilt Hall (where we accepted our award for Grand Prize Peoples Choice in MTA App Quest) the “Meet the Oscars” exhibit is taking place. Not only can you take a free photo with the statue, but you’ll be able to see the actual Best Actor and Best Actress Oscars that will be presented at Sunday’s 84th Academy Awards ceremony. Also on display are the Best Actor Oscar statue Michael Douglas won in 1987 for his role in “Wall Street” and a collection of Oscars in various stages of completion, as manufactured by R.S. Owens & Company in Chicago. On Monday post the photo on Facebook and say you won it for Best Documentary Short Film. No one sees those.
