Remember that little update we gave you in September? Well we finally have something to show for it- CityMaps beta! We’ve added a bunch of new features that I’d love to tell you about provided  you have some time to spare, and who’re we kidding of course you do- you’re on the internet!

The most impressive feature we’ve developed is the capability for our users to create their own maps on CityMaps.  Now you can highlight your favorite spots and routes and share them with your friends.

You can add notes and suggestions about the spots on your map and have your friends comment on your geographic masterpiece!

Everything you do on CityMaps Beta will be recorded on your fully functional CityMaps profile that records what businesses you like and what maps you’ve created.

You’ll also be able to embed any maps you create onto your own website or blog.

Visitors will be able to interact with your carefully curated map and see what places you’ve chosen to feature. CityMaps can now act as an interactive platform where you can create relevant content and distribute it to your users, followers, and internet fans.

I hoped I’ve compelled you enough to check out CityMaps Beta, if you do, let us know what you think! It’s been awhile since we last updated our blog, but don’t worry we’re back! First of all, thanks for all of your support over this summer. We got a tremendous amount of feedback from both our users and merchants and have been working diligently to improve the maps we already have and add some new ones as well.

This whole summer we’ve been cranking away at the newest version of Citymaps. In the next couple of months, we will be releasing a whole new product that our users can interact with like never before.

The new Citymaps will integrate your city and social world seamlessly, highlighting places that have meaning to you and your friends. It will also allow you to drop notes on places and share these locations in quick and easy ways. With our new Yelp integration, you will be able to see the highest rated businesses at a glance, helping you decide where to eat, drink, and play.

However, undoubtedly the most compelling tool we’ve developed thus far, is the power to create your own maps. That’s right folks, you’ll be able to create maps of your favorite places in the city, share them with your friends, and update them as you wish.

We’re all really excited to share it with you, but it’s not quite ready yet. We expect to release this dynamite product in the next couple of months, but until then, be sure to subscribe to our facebook, twitter, and instagram where we’ll be previewing some of our new and upcoming features regularly. CityMaps.com is seeking a marketing intern for our NYU Campus CEO Pilot Program.  We are a Midtown Manhattan based midsized tech-startup working hard to create the next Facebook.

The Campus CEO’s role is to act as an intermediary between the NYU community and CityMaps.  You will recruit and lead a team of NYU students to plan and execute marketing efforts promoting CityMaps in exchange for incentives and real-life experience.  You will work closely with the CityMaps marketing team to discuss and plan promotions, and put them into action in your own creative way.  We know every campus is unique and we rely on your expertise to help shape this program.
As the Campus CEO, you will gain leadership and marketing experience, and gain inside knowledge of the culture and day to day workings  of a tech start-up.  You will personally get to know members of the CityMaps team as well as the president and founder of the company.

We are looking for an undergraduate student enrolled full-time at NYU. We need someone who can assemble and manage their own team. You must be outgoing, self-motivated, an avid user of social media, able to draw and engage a crowd, and comfortable meeting new people.

This opportunity is great for someone interested in marketing, entrepreneurship, business life/culture, or icee pops.
Time requirement: ~20 hours per week (schedule is flexible)
